Skin - your biggest organ

The skin is not just a covering of the body; it is an organ supplied by nerves, blood and lymph. It shares in the role of elimination and so is related to the kidneys, lungs, liver and bowels. A problem in one of those organs is frequently reflected in the others. This is why some skin problems are not helped by external applications. For example, if the kidneys are not filtering the blood effectively, then this places an additional burden on the skin’s eliminative function and the result may be skin eruptions.

My recommendation is to do something at the first sign of any skin problem because a relatively minor problem can spread and intensify. See if you can relate the outbreak to a particular activity or food, perhaps something different in the diet, or something in excess. Were you exposed to a particular plant, chemical or drug? Did you use a different washing powder, wear something new, have too much exposure to the sun or came in contact with a possible infection?

Sunlight is healthy and necessary but a little is good and a lot harmful, so for the sake of your skin avoid sunbathing and working in strong sunlight without protection
